Supported Flash Adapters and Programming Interfaces
A list of flash adapters and programming interfaces supported by MCU Innovations software tools.
J2534 Pass-Thru Devices
All J2534 devices should work as long as the device's drivers are properly installed, however, results may vary.
The following J2534 devices have been tested and verified:
- Tactrix Openport 2.0 1
- Bosch VCI 1
- SM2 Pro VCI 1
- Kvaser Leaf Light v2 2
- Intrepid Control Systems ValueCAN 4-2 2
1 Supports Kline and CANbus
2 Supports CANbus only
FTDI Kline Adapters
All FTDI based Kline adapters should work as long as the FTDI D2XX driver is installed. Be warned, not all FTDI kline adapters are created equal. Many (most) are made of extremely low-quality components with no circuit protection and as a result, burn out often. Look for adapters that use proper automotive ICs. It should also be noted that some Kline adapters have multi-function switches on them (e.g. K+DCAN), avoid these!
The following J2534 devices have been tested and verified:

Serial Flash Adapters
At this time only FTDI based serial adapters. Any FTDI breakout board should work as long as the FTDI D2XX driver is installed.
